Save money by electrifying your home
The cheapest way to run your home with the technology we now have is to have all electric appliances and cars powered by clean electricity. According to modelling, a fully-electrified home is about half the running cost of a typical fossil fuel home (gas space heating, water heating & cooking, petrol car, no solar PV).
The journey to full-electric will vary depend on your home and existing appliances. We’ve developed a tool that will create a customised guide to help you navigate the transition.

Electrifying keeps money in our community
99 cents out of every $1 spent on fossil fuel energy leaves our community. Petrol is imported from refineries. Grid electricity is imported from major centres, and the same with gas. That means profits leave our community, too.
A switch to consuming 100% renewables with an electric home means all that money you used to spend on energy for your home and car can be spent locally instead. That translates to more jobs and more economic development in our town.
